The gameplay is a futuristic first-person shooter game in which the gamer can go through the game like it is a real one. The Conduit is very well-matched with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk combination. Compare with other Wii games, the controls are well-contoured to fit the gamers hand giving you a natural feel while holding the controllers and utilize them simultaneously.

Quantum 3 engine was used in the game The Conduit since it is intended by High Voltage Software for Wii. On April, 2008, the game was presented by IGN (Imagine Games Network) and on October, 2008, Sega became the games official publisher.

The controls of the game can be remapped depending on what you prefer but I did not find the need to change anything because you can use the game controllers simultaneously. To zoom in the image and move your character, you just have to use your Wii Remote and your Nunchuk to use or navigate the objects.

The storyline may not appear to be somewhat new. It involves aliens trying to rule over the world. You will be a part of an organization called Trust, which is basically a group of government secret agents to battle against the alien invaders. Its possible that a government scheme is behind the alien invasion.

The graphics for The Conduit are amazing considering the graphics engine on the Nintendo Wii. The developers attention to detail is quite magnificent and youll likely be surprised during game play. Developers at High Voltage Games really took the time to create interesting orb shaped weapons and polish their weapon effects. Im astonished myself that the sharp fine tuned graphics of The Conduit are coming from the Wii Console and not a Playstation 3. The graphics are really that good!

Just so you know, the game can support up to 16 players at the same time because of its ability to connect online plus it works also on a Local Area Network (LAN). You can communicate with your other team through the new Wii Speaker and online voice chat hence making the game more fun and amazing!

The entire visual display can be customized depending on your own personal preferences thus giving you the opportunity to maximize your gaming experience. It includes the bump-mapping, fresnel effects, reflection and refraction, light and shadow maps projection, motion blur, animated textures and a lot more. You will totally love the game!

Is video game blockbuster to blame for movies' box office shortfall?By Mike Smith

Could the release of Halo 3 be behind October's underperforming box office numbers? That's the suggestion made by industry journal Advertising Age. In a Monday article, the publication linked Ben Stiller flick The Heartbreak Kid's disappointing first-weekend take of $14 million to the release of Halo 3 the previous week.

September 25, Halo 3's launch day, saw the game haul in a gargantuan $170 million, more than doubling the October 6-7 weekend's total box office take of $80 million -- the lowest October weekend since 1999. According to Advertising Age, execs at Paramount are investigating the possibility of a correlation.

Ben Stiller's next movie, an adaptation of Scott Smith horror bestseller The Ruins, is due to release on April 4, 2008. Cruelly, this stands a significant chance of sharing the stage with what's expected to be the biggest video game release of next year: Grand Theft Auto 4.

Halo 3 might shatter sales records, but Master Chief has a long way to go before he topples these gaming giants.

t's official -- the fight has been finished. With Grand Theft Auto IV on the blocks until early next year, it's a pretty safe bet that Halo 3 will be the best-selling game of 2007. On Wednesday Microsoft gleefully announced a $170 million take on opening day alone, making it the highest-grossing single day launch in entertainment history. To give you some perspective, current box-office champ Spider-Man 3 enjoyed an opening weekend total of about $150 million. Master Chief does whatever a spider can and then some.

But despite such astronomical revenue, the Halo trilogy barely cracks the worldwide best-selling franchises Top 40, currently resting at a comfy 15 million units sold. Tack on a generous 10 million more courtesy of Halo 3 (Halo 2 rests at 9 million) and it's still light years away from competing with these formidable franchises.

Review: New CDs from 50 Cent, Kanye West

50 Cent, "Curtis" (Interscope) and Kanye West, "Graduation" (Def Jam)

Hip-hop's latest battle between two of its biggest egos — Kanye West and 50 Cent — has been building like a title fight in Vegas. Before the Tuesday release of their respective CDs, "Graduation" and "Curtis," 50 challenged West to a televised debate, called him a "worker bee" while describing himself as a "boss," and vowed to retire if West outsold him during their debut week. In response, West has mostly downplayed Fiddy's bluster, re-channeling it as added publicity for his own release. The two share a Rolling Stone magazine cover posed nose-to-nose, evoking the great showdowns of our time.

If the contest was being judged solely on artistic vision rather than Soundscan tallies, however, West could claim a landslide victory. "Graduation" blends a different set of musical influences than West's past two efforts, 2004's "The College Dropout" and 2005's "Late Registration." Drawing from Daft Punk and Coldplay to loping, back-porch soul and '80s-era electro-disco rhythms, "Graduation" still sounds like a logical step forward. Yet "Curtis" sounds like Fiddy is standing in place, with the familiar bruising basslines and slick, synth-heavy productions that have transformed the former drug dealer into one of the top-selling recording artists of any genre.

As on his previous releases, West measures his overflowing arrogance with self-conscious dollops of doubt, humor and vulnerability. Meanwhile, Fiddy's outsized cockiness sounds like a comfortable artist repeating himself, afraid to tinker with his winning formulas.

To wit, on the radio-ready track "Good Life," featuring the digitally enhanced singing of T-Pain, West takes some of his adversary's own advice and paraphrases a line from Fiddy's 2003 smash "In Da Club": "50 told me go head switch your style up/ And if they hate, then let 'em hate and watch the money pile up."

The so-called "hate" West has received for his award-show outbursts, preppy fashion choices and unfiltered honesty results in a lot of explaining on his new album. On the haunting "Can't Tell Me Nothing," West alludes to his infamous "Bush hates black people" post-Hurricane Katrina comment: "I'm just saying how I feel man/ I ain't one of the Cosbys, I ain't go to Hillman," before speaking about himself facetiously, "I guess the money should've changed him/ I guess I should've forgot where I came from."

To avoid seeming soft and indecisive, elsewhere he undercuts apologies with knowing brashness. On the addictive "Barry Bonds" featuring Lil Wayne, West boasts: "Top five MCs you gotta rewind me/ I'm high up on the line, you gotta get behind me/ but my head so big you can't sit behind me."

By disc's end, on the captivating "Big Brother," West even dares bite the hand the feeds him, detailing the mild beef but ultimate reverence he has for his label boss Jay-Z.

Neither self-deprecation nor humility is part of Fiddy's equation. He's more concerned about squashing rivals, real and imagined ("My Gun Go Off," "I Still Kill"), highlighting his street pedigree and reminding us of his bottomless wealth.

The disc is mostly standard-issue gangsta talk that only in moments recalls vintage Fiddy such as "Wanksta" or "P.I.M.P." For example, on the menacing funk of "Fully Loaded Clip," Fiddy takes aim at rap/R&B elite who've gone soft, snickering: "When Jay and Beyonce was um-um kissing/ I was cooking 1,000 grams in my kitchen/ When Nas was telling Kelis, "I love you, boo"/ I was shining my nine, you know how I do." And over the deep bass thuds of "I Get Money," which features a classic Audio Two sample, Fiddy gloats: "They callin' me cocky/ I come up out the jeweler, they callin' me Rocky/ It's the ice on my neck man, the wrist and my left hand/ bling like BA-LOW, you like my style."

As much as Fiddy banks on ruthless rhymes and nouveau riche bragging, he also fancies himself a rugged sex symbol. Hence the obligatory cuts that reveal his sensitive thug side, notably, "Amusement Park" and "Peep Show," the latter featuring a lewd verse from Eminem. However, the tracks capture little of the magic of past winners such as the touching "21 Questions" or the seductive "Candy Shop."

And when Fiddy enlists Justin Timberlake and Timbaland for "Ayo Technology," Robin Thicke on "Follow My Lead" and Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger on "Fire," it feels like a rapper in a rut desperate to maintain his pop stranglehold. The songs aren't tough listens by any means, but Fiddy is going the easy route to appeal to the masses.

Ill-advised collaborations detract from West's "Graduation" as well. "Drunk and Hot Girls," an exasperated dis of club floozies featuring Mos Def, has a grating and humorless hook. And "Homecoming" includes an unremarkable chorus sung by Coldplay's Chris Martin. Still, West's miscues result from a risk-taking spirit that Fiddy lacks. For that reason alone, West should claim the title of hip-hop's most successful egomaniac.

CHECK OUT THESE TRACKS: The drum kicks of Fiddy's "I Get Money" are meant to rattle trunk speakers, while West shows that it's OK for a rapper to express paralyzing insecurity and dogged ambition in the same breath on "Big Brother."

MTV Awards flourish despite Britney bomb

LAS VEGAS - As in most train wrecks, it was hard to focus on just one thing as the Britney Spears disaster unfolded on MTV's Video Music Awards. There was just so much that went wrong.

Out-of-synch lip-synching. Lethargic movements that seemed choreographed by a dance instructor for a nursing home. The paunch in place of Spears' once-taut belly. At times she just stopped singing, as if even she knew nothing could save her performance.

Designed to drum up excitement for her upcoming album, Spears' kickoff to the Video Music Awards on Sunday night became another example of how far she has fallen. It would have been understandable if MTV's show had been crushed under the weight of the opening fiasco — yet somehow it rebounded, and even flourished.

The show banked heavily on its own reinvention. After poor reviews and a decline in ratings over the last few years, MTV moved the show to Vegas, shortened it from three hours to two, went to a hostless format and focused more on performances than awards.

Justin Timberlake and Timbaland, Kanye West, Fall Out Boy and the Foo Fighters hosted separate suite parties where most of the performances took place.

But the performance most people will be talking about was Spears'. And unlike her last appearance at the VMAs, when she locked lips with Madonna in 2003, this time it will be for all the wrong reasons.

"It definitely could have been a lot better," the hitmaking singer and producer Akon commented afterward. "She seemed nervous ... you could tell by the expression on her face. Instead of just blocking everybody out and doing her thing, you could tell she was thinking about it."

After that, though, the changes to the show worked, leading to several exciting performances and some watercooler drama. An off-camera fight between Pamela Anderson exes Kid Rock and Tommy Lee led Jamie Foxx to quip: "Stop all this white-on-white violence."

Timberlake's suite was flooded with revelers, alcohol and eight lingerie-clad stripper types on raised platforms. Before Timberlake accepted the Quadruple Threat of the Year award at his suite, the DJ summoned the partygoers to watch the monitor and go crazy if Timberlake won. He did, they did, and Timberlake said: "I want to challenge MTV to play more videos!" Then he was whisked away by bodyguards and disappeared.

Timberlake was the night's big winner, with four trophies. After accepting the award for Male Artist of the Year, he jabbed at the video issue again: "We don't want to see the Simpsons on reality television." Apparently he's not a fan of either Jessica or Ashlee's MTV shows.

Rihanna won the coveted Video of the Year award, plus Monster Single of the Year for "Umbrella." The Best Group was Fallout Boy, and Gym Class Heroes won Best New Artist.

Beyonce and Shakira won Most Earthshattering Collaboration for "Beautiful Liar." Beyonce's shimmering gold dress barely contained her top; immediately after she picked up her trophy she asked an assistant backstage to help fix her dress, apparently to prevent a wardrobe malfunction.

Other performers appeared on the show's main stage, in front of an industry-only audience seated at tables, like at the Golden Globes. Chris Brown gave one of the evening's most extravagant performances — hopping from table to table in a dance spectacle that channeled Michael Jackson, right down to a brief "Billie Jean" imitation.

Alicia Keys had the evening's most rousing performance, debuting her new song, "No One," and then an inspired, choir-backed cover of George Michael's "Freedom."

While performances like Keys' and Spears' were delivered on the main stage, others came in snippets: Akon crooned a bit of his "Smack That" before an award was announced, while the cameras zoomed in on Fall Out Boy and the Foo Fighters mid-performance in their suites, giving viewers the sense that they had happened upon an intimate concert.

Cee-Lo delivered a rocking version of Prince's naughty classic "Darling Nikki" in the smoky Foo Fighters suite (where a beer bong was in operation as Dave Grohl danced, sang Cure songs, played air drums and posed for snapshots); Soulja Boy was showing Kanye West his "Crank That" dance in West's suite.

Though the suites appeared to be chaotic parties, the MTV-cast revelers were carefully organized, strategically placed and encouraged to imbibe for the cameras.

Choreographed or not, Timberlake and Timbaland's suite looked the most exciting — T.I., buffeted by pole dancers, delivered a rousing version of "Big Things Poppin'" while 50 Cent stopped by to perform "Ayo Technology" with Timberlake and Timbaland.

Not to be outdone, T-Pain and West danced high atop Las Vegas in a balcony suite as they celebrated "The Good Life." And Lil Wayne, doing double duty in the Fall Out Boy suite after opening the pre-show with Nicole Scherzinger, was particularly animated.

TV viewers never got full views of those shows, though MTV promised more via its Web site and other "remixed" versions of the show. That might have been the purpose: to whet appetites for repeat viewings by promising glimpses of what they missed during the traditional broadcast.

Unlike in recent years, there was plenty reason to come back for more.

Basically a ringtone is the sound your phone makes when you have an incoming call. They have become very popular due to the ability to chop or use songs (mp3, wav, etc.) as ringtones. Even now you can use ringtones as your answering ring with services like FunMobile, DADA Mobile, GlamTones or FlyCell.

Basically there are three types of ringtones: Monophonic, Polyphonic and Full Music. Monophonic Ringtones are simple tones being played one at a time. These were the first form of ringtones that were popular on early cellphones. But as the cellphones matured so did the ringtones, giving us polyphonic ringtones.

Polyphonic ringtones are like monophonic ringtones in that they can only play tones of a song. The difference that with Polyphonic tones you can play more than one tone at once. Meaning you could different tone sounds for different instruments and play those simultaneously. In fact with most phones you can play up to 40 tones at once, making a very good simulation of a song. But it is not the actual song and therefore the next generation of ringtones is Full Music ringtones.

Full Music ringtones are the actual song. These can be in mp3, wav and other music formats. In the last couple of years cellphones have matured to have music players on the phones allowing full music playback. These “mp3 ringtones” are becoming more and more common as more and more phones can handle full mp3 playback.

Britney Spears coming back to MTV Awards

LAS VEGAS - With skin, snakes and smooches in her past MTV repertoire, there's no telling what's in store Sunday when Britney Spears

opens this year's Video Music Awards.

The 25-year-old tabloid magnet will perform "Gimme More," the first single from her upcoming album, MTV announced Thursday.

Spears is a VMAs veteran: She covered the Rolling Stones' "Satisfaction" in 2000, stripping down to a nude-colored bikini top and matching pants; a year later, she performed "I'm A Slave 4 U" with a 7-foot albino python around her neck. In 2003, she and Madonna had the watercooler moment of the year with an open-mouth kiss in the opening act.

Sunday's show in Las Vegas will mark Spears' latest and biggest step toward a career comeback after a period of public misbehavior, short-lived marriages, ultra-short hair-don'ts and other misadventures.

Her long-awaited new album is due for release Nov. 13 on Jive Records.

J. Lo awarded $545,000 in suit vs. ex

A judge Wednesday approved a $545,000 arbitration award to Jennifer Lopez in a lawsuit against her first husband, Ojani Noa, over his plans to publish a tell-all book.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael C. Solner also issued a permanent injunction barring Noa from publishing negative, denigrating or disparaging details about Lopez.

Solner approved the award, which was decided in April by a court-ordered arbitrator. It includes $200,000 in damages, with the rest going for arbitration costs and attorney's fees.

The judge also directed Noa to give the actress-singer or her lawyer all copies of materials related to the book.

Noa and Lopez, 39, married in February 1997 and were divorced 11 months later.

Lopez's breach-of-contract lawsuit, filed in April 2006, accused Noa of violating a previous lawsuit settlement that prevented him from revealing private information about their relationship.

Noa, who had been representing himself, asked Wednesday for another 30 days to find a lawyer.

When Solner denied his request, Noa objected.

"I think it's unfair, to be honest, your honor," Noa said.

"I'm sure you do," Solner replied.

Lopez's attorney, Paul N. Sorrell, said a previous judge gave Noa chances to get a lawyer and he never did.

Sorrell declined to comment outside of court.

Noa's unpublished, ghostwritten book claims that during the time of their marriage Lopez had multiple affairs, including one with her third and current husband, Marc Anthony, according to court documents.

Noa offered not to publish the book in return for $5 million, her lawsuit alleges.

In 2004, Noa sued Lopez for breach of contract, saying she lured him into taking a $1,000-a-week managerial job at her Pasadena restaurant, Madre's, then fired him five months later.

Noa settled the case for $125,000 in October 2005 and agreed not to disclose information about their relationship or disparage his ex-wife, according to court documents.

Lopez's suit claimed Noa's book plans breached that agreement.

Ringtones Not Ringing The Register

http://www.webpronews.com/ informs, that U.S. ringtone sales have steadily increased every year since 2003, but this year Broadcast Music Inc. (BMI) is predicting that the ringtone market will see a decline. Their estimate is that sales for 2007 will be $550 million, down $50 million from 2006.
According to BMI, ringtone sales for 2006 were $600 million; $500 million in 2005; $245 million in 2004; and $68 million in 2003.
For the first time, BMI has released a U.S. ringback market estimate. A ringback tone is a music piece that a caller hears when they call another mobile phone. They estimate that for 2007 ringbacks will generate $65 million in revenue.
BMI's projections are from 520 million individual ringtone purchases, which have been examined for the past 12 quarters. They tracked data from 325 retail stores for the purchase of mobile entertainment in the U.S.
"As we forecasted last year, the ringtone market matured in 2006. The slowdown in ringtone growth, however, was partially offset by the first wave of promising U.S. growth in ringback tones," said BMI Vice President of New Media and Strategic Development, Richard Conlon.
"We believe that the ringtone market's growth has leveled off and the novelty phase has ended. We envision increased revenue opportunity in the streaming sectors of the mobile entertainment market, ranging from ringtones to audiovisual cellular phone TV-style offerings."
According to the Yahoo buzz blog searching for ringtones remains solid. Over the last week searches increased 32 percent while searches for free ringtones were up 10 percent.

Bob Marley family says to sue Universal, Verizon

Reuters informed that the family of late reggae singer Bob Marley said on Thursday they will sue Universal Music Group and Verizon Wireless for using the iconic pop star's name, likeness and image without permission.
Fifty Six Hope Road Music Ltd, which is owned by the Marley family, said in a news release that Universal Music had entered an agreement with Verizon Wireless that granted the U.S. mobile service provider the right to utilize Bob Marley's name, likeness and image to promote a new set of ringtones.
The offer, announced on Tuesday, said Verizon Wireless customers would be able to purchase ringtones of some of Marley's music exclusively on its service.
"The agreement was entered into without the permission of the Marley Family," said the statement from Fifty Six Hope Road Music Ltd.
Universal Music Group, the world largest music company, owns Island Records, the label through which Marley recorded most of his global hits, such as "One Love" and "I Shot The Sheriff." His greatest hits compilation, "Legend," is the biggest-selling reggae album of all time.
"UMG has not received any suit from the Marley Estate," Universal Music Group said on Thursday.
The music company, owned by French media giant Vivendi (VIV.PA: Quote, Profile , Research), said the claims made in the press release were "meritless".
"Specifically, we are offering Bob Marley ringtones through Verizon in accordance with the terms of a long-standing contract between Bob Marley and UMG," Universal Music Group said.
